September 14, 2020. Studio Adventures! So Bob has been trying to collage and it’s not going well at all. He’s on his hands and knees and sniffling a bit. “There’s too much to think about ! “ he cries.” I can’t get an idea , the scissors are too big for my hands, the knife is scary and sharp! And papers keep getting stuck to me!” “Oh”exclaims Andy” I love the big glue stick! I think I am going to do an abstract! Love the colours and textures too!” “Well guys” says Jerry “I’ve decided to just enjoy the art. Take my time and really drink it in! Maybe get all philosophical about the story behind the art!” And Bob and Andy just groan. Now Jerry will be just insufferable and impossible they think. Bob goes back to ungluing his fingers and Andy starts gluing down his abstract. It’s not real art, anyone could do it!” Jerry is mesmerized. “I love them!”he exclaims “So much texture and the story line is fabulous”. “Well” muses Andy “ maybe we should try making one. What do you think Bob?” “ Easy peasy!” answers Bob . Hey Jerry and Bob are you sitting on wet paint?!” “ It’s fine, all dry” replies Bob . “So what’s plienair ?“asks Jerry “Painting outside”answers Andy. “Oh, sounds hot and buggy” exclaims Bob. And yes it is sometimes but also very satisfying. Wonder what these amateur critics will be doing next ? August 31, 2020 Studio Adventures! “Hey” shouts Andy” Did you see what the artist did this time? These are pretty good!” “Oh no” moans Jerry “It’s sticky and yucky!” “What now ?” grumbles Jerry “ Just when I am enjoying myself. What happened now Jerry?” Bob snickers and says “ I think he has stepped in some paint.” “Quick Bob, bring him one of those wipes! July 31, 2020. Post Covid-19 time -an imagining. Bini and Phill are taking some time off - a bit of a pause. Bini is explaining to Rodney that they might spend sometime down at the river fishing and swimming with friends but they also might go camping as well. Rodney is a little sad. “ I am going to miss you guys” he sniffles. “ It’s okay” says Bini “ we will be back every once in a while” . Phill is dreaming of the perfect quiet vacation without crazy adventures. Maybe just a good supply of chips and beer. August is a traditional down time . So this page will be down for a while . July 30, 2020. Post Covid-19 time -an imagining. Bini and Rodney have gone to the zoo with Phill. They are happy to see all the animals but a little upset about the fences and cages. So they are talking to some of the zoo keepers about it. “Well “says one keeper “ some of the animals are too dangerous to be able to just roam around. So for public safety we have to have fences. But we try to give them as natural a habitat as possible.” “Don’t they just want to go back to their own places?” asks Bini. “ Maybe, but most of these animals were born in captivity and wouldn’t know how to live in the wild.” Hmmm thinks Bini I wonder! “Anyway “ says the keeper” things are evolving in zoos and probably we won’t see them in the future.” Rodney and Bini think that’s probably a good thing. Then they realize the Phill has wandered off and got to close to one of the enclosures! A zoo keeper is going to bring him back. “ Come on Phill!” shouts Bini “ We are going to see the seals eat fish!” And away they go Bini and Rodney singing “ We are going to the zoo , zoo, zoo. July 29, 2020. Post Covid-19 time-an imagining. Today the Racoon family has come to visit at Bini’s home. Rodney is very excited and running all around. Suddenly he shouts” Look Mom and Dad. They even have indoor facilities! Even a shower!” “ oh dear” says Rosie very embarrassed” that’s not polite Rodney!” “It’s okay” answers Phill “kids do things like that.” Then Rodney says” We are going to buy a house in this neighborhood!” “ Oh “ says Sam this time. “you know Rodney we are just looking right now!” “But it would be so cool!” moans Rodney. “Well , I hope it’s easier for you than for us” exclaims Phill. “Why?” ask Rosie and Sam. “It takes a while for people here to get use to new neighbours. We had a hard time when we came a few years ago because we are a different type of family. And Rochman has a really hard time. Everyone was always wondering where his feet were and they didn’t like home humming and singing all the time. And of course some people have had a hard time with other racoons , tipping over garbage cans and getting into attics.” explained Phill. Rosie and Sam say they would never be like that and everybody said of course not. “ Well “said Sam “ If we decide to move, we will have to make a good effort to educate the neighbours about what good homeowners racoons can be!” “And” said Rochman “ we can help with that!” Phill and Bini are surprised-Rochman doesn’t usually speak up when they have company! “It’s important!” states Rochman and stops talking.
