I have begun posting some of the collages on Facebook that were in my fall show at Gallery in the Grove, Brights Grove, Ontario. Thought it was time to include them on the blog. The title of this one is "Spanish Class", 12x12 on wood, material, magazine clippings, paper, trim, and acrylic paint.
Waiting in A Coruna, Spain airport. After walking the Camino we were enroute to Bilbao. Required much time on buses and waiting in airports. As always lousy food and boredom.
We have been traveling in Spain, walking the Camino from Sarria to Santiago . About 115 km in total for us. Just amazing experience. Soon home and back to painting and teaching.
Two new paintings from the cottage done just this past week. It had been steady high 90s for about four days when I did the top one. Later that day the hydro grid broke down across the Mitt.
Here are two of my paintings, still on Toronto island. The first is a palette tear off, some say it's a tick, others the head of a cow, others two people talking intimately. The second is a Plien Aire of one of the lagoons here. Both are acrylics on birch panels.
I am on Toronto Island with a group of female artists at Artscape Gibralter Point, a residence and studio place for artists and writers. We are all members of the Gallery Painting Group in London, On. These are two of my painting this week so far. We have had some terrific rain storms and some great sunshine today. There are seven of us so we are calling ourselves the Gang of Seven!
Here is the finished work that I showed first on my last post of A Painting A Week. Lots of collage and mixed media in this one. It is about 30x36 inches.
Two postings for this last week of my posting for a year! It's been fun and the response has been gratifying. The first picture is an older collage. I paint the paper first with acrylics and then tear and assemble the collage. The second photo is of a work in progress, a new direction. Happy Spring!

Week Fifty of a Painting A Week
So I have recently discovered that many viewers thought I was posting a freshly done painting each week. But no, my intent was to post a painting each week for a year regardless of when it was done. Some have been brand new, others are old friends.
Today I offer a new collage of my take on the fashion industry . More to follow!
Titled "Home" this piece is 14x14 inches. It is on wood board, and consists of paper, cloth, old scraps of paintings, etc. The theme of "home" is bound up in many experiences and memories.
Today I wanted to post a photo of a painting titled "The Ship". For some reason I can't get that photo on my blog. I have it on facebook and Google+ so it is a mystery to me! If I find it later I will post the photo then!
